Things I have written
- Two Types of Strategy Tax Following up on the concept of a Strategy Tax, here’s a clearer definition of the two types you can find in a company. You will recognize them.
- The Curse of the Modus Operandi The systems that you use to run your business, end up shaping it too. It’s a trap that I’ve fallen into many times myself.
Things to be optimistic about
- A new drug based on ketamine could help treat depression It is rare with new treatments for depression. It’s been about 30 years since the last one. But the FDA just approved a new type that shows promise.
- Explaining devices that learn: Google AI and IF A much needed human perspective to AI and Machine Learning. If decisions are automated for you as a user – how would you know? And how could it be explained in order to empower you? This interesting and important question gets great treatment here.
Things to learn from
- Nine Reasons Why Disney+ Will Succeed The last few years it has been a wise move to never bet against Disney. As they enter the SVOD market, there’s reason to believe they’ll do well there too.
- Nearly Half of U.S. Consumers Frustrated by Streaming Explosion Related to the SVOD explosion, we have officially reached subscription fatigue. Loads of data and interesting stats in this one.
Things to listen to
- Lisa Brennan-Jobs, the designing and writing of Small Fry Craig Mod does a great job in getting to the real craft behind the writing and designing of a book. The intricate details of care and love that went into the choice of typefaces alone makes this a fascinating listen.
- Peace Bird EP, by Genius of Time The Swedish duo Genius of Time are back with three fantastic tracks that live somewhere between deep house and techno. Dark and moody.
